The race committee has taken a decision to impose a lifetime ban on Mr Mohammed Hajjam from competing at the Carnival City Macsteel National Classic.
He was classified in third place by the officials on the line, but after confirmation from other riders in the group (Vets 50+ men) it was confirmed that he wasn’t part of the group competing for the prizes. We will request that his name and time is removed from the official timing results, and impose the DQ for the 125Km VC race held on Sunday.
Taking a shortcut, for whatever reason, is acceptable – providing the competitor declares a DNF. This is done by either not riding over the finish line, or by confirming this with the organiser and officials afterwards. The lifetime ban has been imposed because he claimed the prize money from the organiser, which we consider total unacceptable.
