60Km Route

60Km Route

The route starts and finishes inside the Carnival City outside entertainment area, west of the Casino.

Dubbed “the Race“, this route is suitable for all levels of rider, but with about 380m of elevation gain, this route is deceivingly tougher than it looks on paper. With a mix of single track, jeep track, district road, gentle gradients as well as some short punchy climbs, this is more than just a dirt-roadie race.

  • 3 Water points at 15Km, 33Km and 52Km, plus recovery drinks at the finish line;

34Km Route

family_ride

12Km or 6Km – Family Friendly*

This event is catered for the families that want to ride together, without worrying about any technically-challenging sections that riders would experience on the two longer distance events.

This event will take in two laps (12Km) or one lap (6Km) respectively on a route inside the Carnival City premises. Mostly graded tracks, with some minor drags (gentle uphills) and a few twists & turns.

Kids/parents have the choice to ride one or two laps, whichever suits their fitness and/or experience.

kiddies_ride

1, 2 or 3Km – Kiddies Ride*

This event is exclusive to the younger generation, and takes in one to three laps of a shortened 1Km route inside Carnival City. The objective of this track is to give the youngsters a chance to ride within full sight of Mom/Dad, and not having to worry about older kids interfering with their ride.

The circuit is about 1Km long, and kiddies can ride this route once, twice or complete all three laps.

Please note that this is the MTB edition of the kiddies ride, starting at +/- 07:30.
A “road” version takes place on Saturday at 09:00 at the taxi-rank parking next to the hospitality area.
